The High Park Fire: Changing our lives forever
The High Park fire was a wildfire in the mountains west of Fort Collins, Colorado.
It was caused by a lightning strike & was first detected on the morning of June 9, 2012.
It was declared 100 percent contained on June 30, 2012.
22 days of ... watching the hills, watching our devices, hourly email alerts with worsening news each time, wondering, hoping, denying & crying, hugging, talk, talk, talking...
Oh, and maybe a little beer drinking with great friends that took us all in during our time of need (families and pets representing Bellvue, Davis Ranch, & Horsetooth Reservoir). You gave us a home base for our personal operations, a phone number to connect us with our families, and always great food and spirits! We thank you, Kim & Dave, for offering your home as our commune. That part was nice.
