July 31: It's still summer!

Family and friends helped us remember to have fun amidst the chaos.

Last pictures 3 pictures on our old camera.  These are my potatoes in a bag.

So we were evacuees.
Then we were "fire victims".
I called us gypsies on the lamb.
The kids were out of school on June 1.
The fire and evacuation started June 9.

One summer week at home.
Through community support,
especially that of our school system,
family, and friends,
we actually had some fun, too.
We evolved into a somewhat organized system of
laundry baskets, bags, and boxes.
Slowly, adding to our collective belongings through
purchases, donations, and the non-stop flow
of postal packages.
Gift cards for everything, for everyone, and from anyone.
We don't know many of the people who donated.
It has been difficult thanking everyone because it is impossible.
We thank you all.

The car was always loaded down, we moved often,
even enjoyed the Marriott evacuee discount a few times.
We were so lucky to have great friends who opened homes to our chaos.
We all enjoyed many pools this summer, movies, field game activities.
I am pretty sure there was an event for the kids every week.

We appreciate everything so much.

You kept us from drifting away, sinking.
Reminders were constant that we were not alone.
